About the Fair

The 1st Archaeology Publishing Fair project, sponsored by Ediarché Srl, consists on an exhibition faire and cultural event whose main object is the archaeological book.  Different events related to publishing and archaeology will be organized around this main topic.  The core of this initiative is the exhibition and sale of Archaeology, Ancient History and Ancient Art History books in fitted stands on the selected venue, the Superintendence of the Luigi Pigorini National Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography. This prestigious public institution serves the multicultural community and its civil development, engaging in research, conservation and the promotion of communication -for informative, educational and recreational purposes- of the tangible and intangible heritage of paletnological and ethnoanthropological interest.

The book exhibition and sale will be accompanied by an ample programme of high-level cultural events.

In the current project, the 1st Archaeology Publishing Fair aims to become a point of encounter and cultural exchange for specialized publishing houses and operators in the field, institution, public bodies, museums, universities, research centres, archaeological societies and cooperatives, cultural tourism agencies, cultural associations, to also incorporate those keen and curious about ancient times.

The designed exhibition itinerary allows the publishing companies' stands to benefit from a suggestive setting, composed by archaeological pieces and photographic images made available by partner museum and art galleries.  The museum will also display as part of the exhibit the archaeological items retrieved by the Italian Archaeological Heritage police from Rome's Guardia di Finanza -their collaboration has already been confirmed- and the Carabinieri's Tutela Patrimonio Culturale (T.P.C) Command.  Lastly, the itinerary will include an exhibiting area dedicated to Maritime Archaeology and multimedia technology applications in the cultural field.
